On Saturday, Green Party leader Elizabeth May was speaking to students at Concordia University. At the end of the event, a member of Divest Concordia asked the MP for Saanich-Gulf Islands what she thought was important for students to take on in the climate fight, and what MP’s should be supporting them in. Her response? The fossil fuel divestment movement.
“The most important university campaign right now is the divestment of funds from the fossil fuel industry”
We couldn’t be happier to have her support, and can’t wait for more politicians to follow her lead and support students in this fight!
